Booo'd up singer Ella Mai is Dating another BIG female R&B singer
MTO News is hearing reports that 23 year old singer Ella Mai may be dating fellow R&B singer Kehlani. Kehlani has come out in the past as bisexual (with a female preference). And Ella Mai has been rumored to be bisexual also. But this will be the first time ever that two bona fide female stars started dating.
Ella Mai and Kehlani have been friends for some time - ever since they both came up in the industry. But one industry insider claims that the two are dating. The insider explained, "I think they're dating on the low. Kehlani is open with her sexuality, but I think Ella Mai is worried that it could effect her image."
Ella Mai shot up the charts with her Number One song Boo'd up. She's originally from the UK, but has been living in New York (same as Kehlani) for the past year.
Ella Mai was born and raised in South London, England, where she enrolled in performing arts school. She moved to the Queens borough of New York when she 12 years old, before returning to the UK when she was 17 after graduating high school. Ella Mai has yet to release her debut album. She has released three EPs - 'Time', 'Change', both in 2016, and 'Ready' in 2017 - as part of her official EP trilogy. Before this, she had uploaded a four-song EP of originals to SoundCloud called 'Trouble'.
Ella Mai was discovered by esteemed record producer DJ Mustard after he saw her singing short covers of popular songs on Instagram. Upon meeting with him, she was soon signed to his label, 10 Summers Records.
In 2014, Ella Mai appeared on the eleventh season of The X Factor UK as part of a girl group named 'Arize'. However, the trio didn't make it past the first auditions in front of the judges, and they disbanded shortly afterwards.
